Braving Your Business

Show Up Bravely | Connect Deeply | Impact More

The time for equivocating is over. Raise your hand if you:

•    Refuse to accept that business and social justice need to be kept separate.

•    Want to build a business that is authentic, badass and courageous.

•    Believe your bottom line is only one measure of success – you want to change the world.

•    Want to earn a living in a way that is sustainable and ethical.

•    Long for meaningful connections with clients, other business owners and your community.

•    Want your business to be rooted in your principles and values.

•    Are familiar with the work of Brené Brown and want to learn to apply The Daring Greatly™              and Rising Strong™ to the experience of starting or running a business.

But you also:

•    Look around at other coaches, consultants or therapists and feel like you’re always behind.

•    Sign up for yet another course while stalling on your new business/website/service.

•    Are sick of projecting a "vanilla" façade in your business to keep other people comfortable.

•    Know you’re playing it safe and small, instead of unleashing your brilliance (like a badass            goddess with a flaming sword).

Starting a business is a daring adventure

- one that requires you

to show up and be brave

every day.

Even if you’ve “done the work”

you’ll probably find that striking out as an entrepreneur can ignite fear, stir up shit, and mess with your head like almost nothing else.

Everybody has an opinion

For business owners, unsolicited advice is EVERYWHERE.

You can’t get into line at a coffee shop or open up your email

without some self-declared business expert needing to

mansplain how you’re doing your business wrong.

It’s no wonder you find yourself stalling, comparing and falling into self-doubt.

And yet... here you are.

You’ve chosen this adventure, this roller coaster ride, because you are capital-P Passionate about what you do. It lights you up and puts a fire in your belly.

You want this.

It’s time to claim this business journey as your own,

rewrite the rules and start doing things on your own terms.

You’ve already taken the brave step of striking out on your own.

What you need now is the courage to show up imperfectly,

the tools to work through the shit that comes up

and a supportive community around you.

That’s what I’m here for.

I’m Jen Pavich and I help women overcome the patriarchy in their own heads so they can unleash their inner badass, build thriving businesses and change the world.

I do this by combining a powerful curriculum, a supportive community, and a bit of magic.

I'm a professional coach and certified Daring Way™ facilitator candidate. I also have a background in social justice work and small business consulting.

"Here's what I know. I walked into Rising Strong with Jen Pavich pretty convinced there was nothing more I could do about a fairly significant business failure I'd experienced. I walked out seeing myself, my business, and the possibilities for both of us in a whole new way.

The unique combination of Brené Brown's work with Jen's coaching expertise and feminist wisdom created a safe, non-judgmental learning environment in which to explore this really challenging bit of my story.

The support and insights I found through working with Jen were key to helping me thoughtfully and successfully pivot my business. I have more clients, more - and more consistent - income, but mostly I'm happier. And that's totally worth the price of admission."

Braving Your Business will give you...

The Tools

The curriculum blends exercises designed to help business owners build resilience

and navigate cultural obstacles with training adapted from

The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™ programs (based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown).

The Inspiration

Owning a business is personal.

Exploring your courage and vulnerability as you try out new strategies and

develop new ideas changes not only the way you work, but the way you live.

It can give new dimensions to how you see the people in your life

and the world around you.

The Community

Being a solo entrepreneur can feel like living in a vacuum (or maybe screaming into a void).

A supportive community of peers makes all of the difference.

Creativity coach

“I was struggling with visibility, especially, showing up and being seen.  My fears and insecurities in this area getting in the way of my authenticity, and living from a place of courage, and integrity.  As a woman, setting up a business brings up all of the feelings around taking up space, having a voice, owning your own strengths, power and abilities, challenging the patriarchy and the dominant culture. It calls you to live a brave and wholehearted life, which not only transforms your own life but the people that you serve."

What if I'm just starting my business?

That's fine! Being right at the beginning of your business means you can incorporate brave leadership practices right from the start. We'll help you establish an authentic and courageous foundation to keep building on.

What if I'm NOT just starting my business?

That's great! The program is designed to meet you right where you are - wherever that happens to be. We'll work to uncover your opportunities to expand, evolve and brave new areas of your business.

What if I can't make all of the group calls?

Participation is important to the program, so of course it's best to join us in person, BUT real life happens. If you have to miss a call, they'll always be recorded so you can catch up or revisit what we've talked about.

How much time can I expect to spend each week?

The program is structured to allow you to go deep without having to dedicate a ton of time - I know you're starting/running a business and your time is PRECIOUS! You can expect to spend 1-3 hours per week on group/individual calls and homework.

What if I haven't read any of Brene Brown's books? (or if I've never heard of her)

You don't need to be familiar with Brené's work to do this program. If you'd like to get more familiar with this work before starting, I'd recommend starting with the TED talks below, followed by reading Daring Greatly. The Power of Vulnerability (2010) Listening to Shame (2012)
